Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) is a commonly used additive in the textile industry due to its ability to act as a thickener, binder, and stabilizer.

In textile sizing, CMC is added to the warp yarns to help them withstand the stress of weaving.

Meanwhile, in printing paste, it is used to thicken dyes and improve their adherence to fabric. Additionally, CMC can also be used as a lubricant in the textile industry to prevent fiber breakage during spinning.
